ESTIMATES
Estimates are part art and part science. My estimates consider the following criteria:
- your goals, budget and schedule
- document’s quality and length
- document’s complexity (footnotes, bibliography, graphic elements/captions, tables/charts/diagrams, numbers)
- editorial tasks (level of editing, fact checking, writing or rewriting, writer liaison, inputting, editorial production)
- number of rounds of editing
- time required for meetings, phone conversations, writer liaison, etc.
I estimate a maximum number of hours based on above criteria. If scope of work changes and it appears that maximum may be exceeded, I alert you as soon as the possibility becomes apparent. We can then decide how best to proceed.
